When Jesus came, He taught about the broad and the narrow roads that lead to two different destinations – (see Matthew 7:13-14). Christians have become like a man who wants to sleep in two rooms at the same time. He is a dead man already! The Father chose the nation of Israel and gave them His Laws and Ordinances. Whenever they sinned, they would collectively cry to the Father and He would relent in His anger. However, those who could not endure the time of hardship like Naomi and her family left to seek greener pasture elsewhere. When they got there, they lived their lives like the citizens of that land which was contrary to the Law of the Father. This led to the death of Elimelech and his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, husbands of Orpah and Ruth.
As Christians, if we believe in God but fail to believe in His Word by not living according to them, we bring evil upon ourselves. This was the practise of the Jews for many years that made the Father sold them as slaves the second time. After they crossed from Egypt to the Wilderness, the Father taught and warned them not to live their lives like the people He disposed from the Promised Land. He counted all the abominations for them and they promised to abide by the Law. But they failed! This is happening in the church today. Our way of life and service are worldly; far from holiness. This is causing the church big problem. Until we learn to trust the Father for who He is and abide by His Word by living according to them, Satan will not stop tossing us around like football. The Father has a standard which He set through Jesus Christ His Son and we must maintain this standard. Just remember: "Friendship with the world is enmity with God." (James 4:4)
