As children of the Father, we need to pray for listening ear and obedient heart. We have two ears, but the ears that hears word is deep inside. Until these ears are opened, this is the only way we can truly ear any word. And if we hear with our ears, automatically, we’ll follow it with our heart.
When Prophet Samuel delivered the Word of the Father to King Saul, he heard it with his ears, but failed to hear with his inner ears. This was why it’s very easy for him to go on his own way. If we hear with our outer ears, it’s like wasting one’s time. There is a word that passes through one ear to another. It either goes in through the right and comes out through the left, or vice versa. However, the word that enters our inner ears go straight to our heart.
King David said in the Book of Psalms 40:6-8 that, “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; my ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Then I said, “Behold, I come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart.”” He said again in Psalm 34:15 that, “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.” The Bible says in the Book of Job 33:14-18 that, “For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the Pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.” The Father always speak to His children, especially before evil strikes. When a man is far from his Creator because of sin, he’ll fall into a pit unknowingly.
Many Christians believe the Word of their Pastor more than the Word of the Father. The Word of a Pastor supposed to be in unity with the Word of the Father. If sin takes the position of Holy Spirit in the life of His servant, then he cannot hear even if He speaks. As a true and genuinely servant of God, whatever you speak must have the signature of the Father on it. Prophet Elijah was so sure of himself that whatever he says, Heaven will stamp it. The Bible says in the Book of I King 17:1 that, “And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.””
We live in a world where lawlessness has taken over the heart of every soul. This makes it difficult to be able to differentiate between the true Word of the Father and the word of men. But Holy Spirit is there for us to lead and guide us with all truth, so that the Word of the Father will always remain fresh to guide us even in the midst of confusion. Those who listen and obey the voice of their God shall indeed rise above principalities and power. They shall be lifted above their fellow and shall reach a great height in their endeavours. Glory hallelujah. Amen!
